Today, President Obama signed the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act. The signing ceremony included survivors, lawmakers, and Vice President Joe Biden, who authored the bill in 1994. The reauthorization includes new provisions to protect Native American women who are victims of abuse on tribal lands, as well as LGBT victims of domestic abuse.

Sex “screwing up” perfecting organisms for efficiency is apparently a good thing. While natural selection helps to create the genetically strongest members of a species, genetic variation through sex makes these species more ADAPTABLE to their environments. So how does that translate to efficient energy? We can’t just stop at finding energy sources that are the most sustainable. Rosa Parks Gets A Seat At The Capitol
Authorized by Public Law 109-116, as modified by Public Law 110-120, the Rosa Parks statue represents the first commission of a full-sized statue approved and funded by the U.S. Congress since 1873. Today, February 26, is the one year anniversary of the death of Trayvon Martin. A year ago, the unarmed Florida teenager was shot to death by self- declared neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman.
Since Zimmerman’s less than timely arrest last year, the Trayvon Martin case has ignited a nation-wide debate on race, Florida’s Stand Your Ground law, and gun control.
